My Rite Aid Trip

I thought I'd post my Rite Aid trip to help some of you that are new at couponing. First of all my local store does NOT do well in stocking. So my original scenario that I had come up with didn't work so I had to come up with another one that wasn't as great as my first. Here's what I did.

1 Huggies Snug & Dry $8.99
3 John Frieda $15.00
1 Orrville Redenbacher Popcorn $1.99
Total - $25.98
Coupons Used:
-$5/$25 Rite Aid coupon (hand over before all other coupons)
-$2/1 Huggies printable
-$2/1 RA VV Huggies printable
-(2) $3/1 John Frieda Root Awakening from 8/22 SS
-$2/1 John Frieda Sheer Blonde from 8/22 SS
-$.40/1 Orville Rendenbacher popcorn (I can't figure out where this coupon comes from)
Total after coupons - $10.58 (I also paid with some UPR's I had so my out of pocket cost was less than this.)

I got back $2 UPR for the Huggies, $1 UPR for the popcorn and $5 SCR for the John Frieda. So in essence I really got this stuff for only $2.58.

*The $2/1 Huggies printable coupon states that it's for Little Snugglers or Little Movers Diapers. I sorta messed up and got Snug & Dry because I forgot that the coupon stated for Little Snugglers or Movers. I just wanted you to know I didn't intentionally buy the Snug & Dry. Yes even I mess up sometimes! It's hard to keep my mind straight when I'm in the store with 2 little ones and when you have to rework your scenario.

If you shop at a different Rite Aid than me you may want to do this scenario. This was the scenario I had originally planned to do.
1 Huggies Little Movers - $8.99
1 Tone Body Wash - $2.99
1 Kerasal Foot Ointment - $6.99
1 Backaid Max - $3.49
1 Orrville Redenbacher Popcorn - $1.99
Total before Coupons - $24.95 + tax
-$5/$25 Rite Aid Coupon
-$2/1 Huggies printable
-$2/1 RA VV Huggies printable
-$1/1 Tone printable
-$2/1 Kerasal from 6/6 SS
-$.40/1 Redenbacher popcorn from ?
Total after coupons - $12.55 + tax
You will get back:
$2 UPR Huggies
$2 SCR Tone body wash
$6 SCR Kerasal
$3.49 SCR Backaid
$1 UPR popcorn
You will have about $1.94 in overage after UPR's and SCR's. If you live in my area, my Rite Aid was out of the Tone Body Wash and Kerasal Foot Ointment. I don't have much hope that they'll get it in before the week is over but you can always check.

  1. I know the feeling. It can be hard to rework a scenario with kids in tow. :) Been there. Done that.

I think I'm making a few stops at Rite Aid this week. I have 3 Rite Aids close by so I prefer to stop in at a few different stores instead of making the cashiers do different transactions.

Here's a scenario that I saw on Hip2Save in the comment section and think it's a very good deal if you're in need of a LOT of toilet paper. I think I might stock up since it seems like I'm always in need of more tp.

    (4) Cottonelle 12 pks @ $6.49ea = $25.96
    - $5/$25 Rite Aid q
    - (4) .50c/1 q’s
    - (1) $1/1 VV q
    = $17.96
    Receive (2) $5 SCR = $7.96 after SCRs = $1.99 each!

If I'm reading it correctly it should qualify for rebate #10 and rebate #148??

There are so many other good deals this week that I'm not sure where to start. Oh well, I better go start getting coupons together. Tomorrow is shopping day.

  2. Oh, I hate when my store is out of stuff. It only gets a truck every other week, don't ask me why because they are a busy store. So they are frequently out of stock on sale items etc.

Don't forget though you can get rain checks and still get the SCR. If you don't know how to get the SCR for rain check items, email me, I'll be glad to tell you how. They recently made it much easier than it used to be and it's really quite a cinch.

  3. Heather, I saw that deal on Cottonelle and was tempted but decided to skip since I have about 7 packs of toilet paper right now and shouldn't bring another 4 packs into this house! I'm going to be going with my mom to Wooster tomorrow so I thought of stopping at that Rite Aid and checking whether they have the Tone and Kersal.

Lydia, yes they always tell me I can get rainchecks but that doesn't help me out when I need something to get me to $25 so I can use a $5/$25 coupon. I have gotten rainchecks in the past but then never ended up using them. You kinda lost your excitement for the deal when that happens. Have you ever gotten a raincheck for a UPR? Just wondering how they do that? The cashiers in my store always seem kinda clueless about UPR's. I couldn't imagine that they'd know how to print one manually like they do at CVS.

have to manually code with HTML. I'm starting a blog soon but have no coding know-how so I wanted to get advice from someone with experience. Any help would be enormously appreciated!
