My Weekly Spending - $50.95

I've decided that I'm going to try to post my weekly spending every other week. Now please don't be shocked at how often I went to Kroger this week. I just couldn't stay away. :)
Kroger Trip #1 - $15.20. I had a raincheck for the Oikos Yogurt. I also had free coupons for the DiGiorno Pizza and International Delight Creamer.
Rite Aid - $3.80 I was so happy to see the Johnson's products on sale. I had been needing powder for a while now but was hoping for a good sale. I was glad I waited to buy some. I will also be getting back $2 SCR for the shampoo. So all in all I only spent $1.80!
Rite Aid #2 (no picture) - $.58 I bought 1 Johnson's Baby Shampoo and 1 Johnson's powder. My husband was running into town to go to Lowes so I decided to ride along and stop at Rite Aid to pick up 2 more Johnson's items. Now I normally wouldn't have done that because I do have plenty of Johnson's baby items but I had two Johnson's internet printable coupons that Rite Aid didn't accept the day before because I had exceeded their amount of allowed printable coupons. I hate to throw away internet printable coupons so I wanted to use them while something was on sale. Whew....sorry that was longwinded!!!

Kroger #2 - $15.00 I just love it when I hear my total and it's an even number. How do you plan that? Pretty cool! (I know I'm weird:)) Once again I had a raincheck for the Okios yogurt and I also had a free coupon for the Kashi Cereal. I was very happy to find the Kroger Cheese on sale for $1 so I stocked up! I also was excited to find the Wheaties Fuel Cereal on sale for $2.25. With the $.75/1 printable coupon I was able to get it for $.75 a box! My husband is a huge Wheaties fan and in the 11 months I've been couponing I haven't been able to find a good deal on it.
Wal-Mart - $2.50 Used another free coupon for the Uncrustables. I guess this was the week for using free coupons. I had quite a few of them and decided I'd better use them. For some odd reason I always think I have to "save" them. Not sure why.... Also I did not stop at Wal-Mart for 4 items, just in case you're wondering.
Target - $8.32 I had a Huggies Buy One Get One Free coupon from Recycle Bank that I used. I sure wish I had one of those coupons every time it's time to buy diapers!
Kroger #3 (not pictured) - $4.55 Yes, you read right Kroger again! You'd think I'd be tired of going to Kroger by now. We went to Newark for the evening and my husband said he'll stop at Kroger and stay out in the vehicle with children if I want to buy more Wheaties cereal. Now if you're wondering why I didn't buy more Wheaties cereal when I was at Kroger earlier it's because I hadn't printed all the available coupons. Well we stopped at the Newark Kroger and I was disappointed to find their Wheaties $2.68, $.43 more than in Mt. Vernon. Now I know you're probably thinking what's $.43 but it does add up when you're buying several boxes. I'm hoping that possibly it will still be on sale next week that I can pick up some more at Mt. Vernon. So instead of buying cereal I ended up buying more cheese instead. Kroger rarely has it on sale for $1. I also had a Kroger home mailer coupon I used on the cheese.
I also spent $3 on eggs this week. I buy my eggs from my husband's relatives.
February 2009 Spending:
Total before Sales & Coupons: $629.87
Total after Sales & Coupons: $188.42
Savings of 70%
Did you get some good deals this week? I'd love to hear about it!

  1. You did really good. Especially considering what all you got. Buying pampers is normally quite pricey and so is buying cheese. Looks like you were able to get a good deal on Target cheese too. I looked but even with my coupons it still didn't make it a good enough price. Guess I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for cheese deals. :) My husband is enjoying his Wheaties Fuel too. I love new products with all the coupons and promotions they put out to go with them.

  2. Wow Michelle! Great job! If I lived next to Kroger, I am afraid I would be going every other day. :) Your monthly percentage was better than mine. I think mine was around 65% savings. I am so happy to be stocked up on cheese again! Does Target still have the cheese deal this week?

  3. Well about the Target cheese deal. I read somewhere the cheese was $2. Well in Newark it was $2.34 but it was still a pretty good deal. Did you already print the Target Kraft Cheese coupon? Just wondering because I read somewhere that the Kraft Traget printables were only available to print until yesterday. I haven't checked today to see if their still available. You also can only print one coupon per computer.

  5. Rachal,
I checked and I'm still seeing the Kraft Cheese coupon so I'd print it today if you want. Here's the link to the coupon: http://coupons.target.com/mcp/pd.cfm?encp=Tc9K4XSzDtWNb2aEVEYFbUHbS3%2ByKCA5aTg%2Bs2sdEpurOgQw%2BZfGe60SQDW6QOg3e7fyWDAUNUWj%0D%0Amz2Gmsn%2BH8PSu%2FObpd7lW1AbTRt4iSZl1stVbyNe2LTcXLnxGfy3eI4IrdUsJnwaTS5JlXDmQHjr%0D%0AI2feVqB1QDGhf8QvQ1cov53TYgIUCiU6129aV4jaMmUXs2RoDsEWOc2KswKnCwtBf4ldENBr%2F5aK%0D%0AuAuTbSBYLdNM1ObNAUZdf21jK3%2FFR6MDSas8AHltU6VRGX35Uk9AaVG8GmfLyFBJmHE7HBkIHW1p%0D%0AwMc0cQNLUL5Y5ogfKlY%2Bin29XKzGOaUG8eW9lDMRgwGxtK2kwm9CTsv2DXBGp9X6evc9yGsYOTPo%0D%0ARkccGYkQXpVSZyrbHUu2iNfNs6cOMfpKTw75Z8oVGbXKmJPEyz8k6YzcGnYHTQ2OGhJvf5MZv2yi%0D%0ABMyuzjD5l%2FmE2ZagNDO8vB9qtaE2lCKjh092Hsfvz5yPfA%3D%3D

  6. Thanks for the link Michelle!
As soon as John is done watching olympic hockey I will go print! I figured out how to print from my laptop, but John has to install some software. I am trying to be patient!
Did Target have block cheese or only shredded?

I missed you too! :) My back has been hurting a lot yesterday and today so I thought it best to stay home. Yes I sent the coupons with John...Thank YOU for all the coupons you have given me lately! We ate that yogurt up so fast it barely had time to be in the fridge!!!
I am ticked because THE BAG hasn't been delivered to my house yet. Grr!

With the .25 Starbucks drinks at Walgreens and other good deals I think I will shop in Newark! Ha!

  7. Are you going to try getting free purex at Wags? You can read about it on Hip. I'm planning on going to Newark on Wednesday to take L's pictures and I think I'm going to stop and try.

    Target also had block cheese.

  9. Michelle, I enjoyed seeing your purchases. Glad to know I'm not the only one who does multiple trips to stores. :) I can walk to Giant and Rite Aid and it's just too tempting sometimes!

You did well too! I wish I could find cheese for $1. Rarely happens here.

  11. Lydia, I can't imagine how often I'd be at Kroger if I lived within walking distance. LOL It wouldn't be good!! It's also very rare to find cheese for $1 here.
